 Artists stop #23 on the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour is Mary Denzer of Seven Bridges Pottery.  Mary makes beautiful wheel thrown and handbuilt functional stoneware and porcelain pottery at her studio in an equally beautiful location.  You can find Seven Bridges Pottery at 7246 Chisholm Road, Houston Minnesota.

Sue Pariseau

During the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour, artist #22 Lanesboro potter Sue Pariseau can be found at 40051 County Road 12, Lanesboro.  Sue creates beautiful functional, wood fired stoneware pottery made to be used in your everyday life.

On Saturday, April 27th, 5pm - 9pm Sue will also be hosting a kiln opening party during the tour.  Everyone is welcome.

Anne Scott Plummer

The WKM building at 902 E 2nd Street in Winona, Minnesota will be hosting Anne Scott Plummer as artist #9 on the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour.  At this historic building overlooking the Mississippi River, you will find Anne's figurative sculpture and functional wheel-thrown vessels.

Magnolias

 

Magnolias at 177 Layfayette St in Winona is stop #6 on the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour.   

At Magnolia's you can find a works by a variety of artists including, stained glass, fiber art, photography, jewelry, soaps and more.

Minnesota Marine Art Museum

Stop #5 on the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour is the Minnesota Marine Art Museum at 800 Riverview Dr in Winona, Minnesota.  

The Minnesota Marine Art Museum engages visitors in meaningful visual art experiences through education and exhibitions that explore the ongoing and historic human relationship with water.

Monta Gael May

 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour stop #4 is Monta Gael May at 854 W 5th St, Winona, MN.  Monta is a visual artist of diverse practice. She creates mosaics using glass, ceramic and porcelain tile as well as recycled broken pottery, river pebbles and found objects. She paint with encaustic paints, making some of her own paint with the beeswax from her partner's beehives. And she create sculptural art and functional pieces in traditional and non-traditional ways. 

During the tour, Monta will be cutting stone and glass using techniques that are centuries old for the mosaic she will be assembling.  Visit Monta to see how her beautiful mosaics are created.

Carol and Roger Stewart

 Artist Stop #2 on the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour is Carol and Roger Stewart.  Carol and Roger create amazing functional and decorative pieces made from sea shells which are embellished with mixed medias.  New to the tour this year, they can be found at Village House Inn at 72 College Rd, Winona, Minnesota.  Click here to see a tour map.

2013 Tour Dates

April 26 - 28, 2013

10am - 5pm

 The artist participating in the 2013 Bluff Country Studio Art Tour are excited and preparing for the best studio tour yet.  Artists from southeast Minnesota, northeast Iowa and western Wisconsin will be opening their studios to visitors April 26 - 28, 2013 from 10am to 5pm each day.  

It's a wonderful opportunity to get right into the studio with these artists, ask questions about their process and shop for beautiful art direct from the artist.  Many of the artists will be doing demonstrations as well as working on their current work in progress during this event. 

 
Over the next couple months, this blog will feature each of the participating artists with a brief explanation and photos of their work and information on where you can find the artist during the tour.  More information and a map showing artists locations is available on our website .
